Hassan is an active member of the International Federation of Iraqi Refugees. He is currently detained in Doncaster IRC and awaiting deportation also Hassan has been a member of the Worker Communist Party of Iraq since 1993.

 Human rights campaigners, trade unions and refugee rights organizations across Europe please join our campaign to defend Iraqi and Kurdish refugees

The American coalition forces attacked Iraq in the name of bringing freedom and democracy to Iraq instead they have brought terror and killing.  It has been six years since the American led invasion of Iraq, yet killing, security, poverty, unemployment and lack of basic services continue in Iraq. Yet Iraqi refugees remain the highest percentage of any nationality entering neighbouring countries, Europe, America and worldwide.

The situation of the Iraqi refugees in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran and Europe is a tragedy.  Many thousands of Iraqi refugees have resorted to begging, prostitution, selling their internal organs to avoid destitution.

Message of Support from Dashty Jamal Secretary of International Federation of Iraqi Refugees to this united demonstration against the anti asylum policies of the Moderate Swedish Government today (26 February 09).

  

On behalf of the International Federation of Iraqi refugees I would like to welcome everyone to this important demonstration.  We gather here today to send a message to the right wing political parties in Sweden, who have added Sweden to the list of Countries who have forcibly deported Iraqi refugees back to the war torn country they have escaped.  The Swedish Government claims that Iraq is a safe country to return asylum seekers to.  We know this is not true Iraqi asylum seekers have fled from a country of war, occupation and insecurity.
